The relics of Saint Teresa of Calcutta and of Saint Joseph Benedetto Cottolengo have arrived in Sardinia .

Great welcoming ceremony , with songs and prayers of the faithful, at Cagliari-Elmas airport . Then the transfer, in private form, to the chapel of the archiepiscopal seminary of Cagliari.

In the late afternoon, then, the departure for Quartucciu , where the remains will be hosted, before returning, respectively, to Rome and Turin, in the parish of San Pietro Pascasio in via Tabarca . The church will remain open every day from 7.30 to 21 , to allow the faithful to venerate the relics.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta , who died in 1997, is the founder of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Charity . Her total and tireless commitment to the poor led the nun to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 19, 2003 and a saint by Pope Francis on September 4, 2016. his liturgical memorial occurs on 5 September.

San Giuseppe Benedetto Cottolengo , who died in Chieri in 1842, is the founder of the Little House of Divine Providence and of the congregations connected to it: brothers, nuns and priests of Cottolengo.

St. Joseph was proclaimed a saint by Pope Pius XI in 1934. His liturgical memorial falls on April 30th.
