A total of 70 ovules of cocaine, swallowed to try to skip the controls. This is what two Nigerian citizens, not resident in Sardinia, had in their bellies, arrested as soon as they arrived at Cagliari airport on a flight from Milan. The intervention by the Carabinieri was triggered when, at the time of the checks, their behavior appeared rather suspicious: from there the personal search and subsequent health checks.

The arrested are residents of Turin (a thirty-year-old) and Foggia (a thirty-one-year-old) respectively. Checks at the airport revealed that one was carrying 17 ovules for a total weight of about 200 grams, while the other drug courier was hiding 53 ovules equal to about 1 kg of cocaine . The discovery of the narcotic substance led to the arrest.

The thirty-year-old is now in prison in Uta, while the other arrested person is hospitalized where he is under guard. This is because emergency surgery was necessary, due to complications arising from the presence of an egg that put his life in danger .

The intervention of the Carabinieri, of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Cagliari Company, with the support of the Air Border Police, took place during a territorial control service carried out in the Elmas airport area .
