A crowdfunding fundraising initiative has started in favor of the Lions Hospitality House in Cagliari to allow the construction of a photovoltaic system capable of supplying the energy necessary for the proper functioning of the structure. The idea was discussed at the organization's District 108L convention . The project aims to raise 160,000 euros with the support of Lions members and all citizens who intend to make a contribution.

Since its inception, the Casa has offered hospitality for over 200,000 nights to patients and their families, mostly from Sardinia but also from the rest of Italy (8%) and from other countries (5%).

"In recent months - declared the President of the Lions Hospitality Home, Romano Fischetti - the situation resulting from the reduced activity of hospitals (Covid and post-Covid) and from the international crisis has put the operations and future of the Home in serious difficulty of Hospitality due to the simultaneous reduction of income (donations from guests) and the exponential growth of energy costs».

To deal with the emergency, it was decided to equip the building with a photovoltaic system capable of meeting the energy needs. The construction of the plant requires an investment of 160 thousand euros.

"To achieve the goal - concludes Fischetti - a fundraising is started through the so-called ethical crowdfunding, using the site 'www.buonacausa.org', an online platform that allows you to manage fundraising and appeals to support and disseminate humanitarian projects".
