Almost three accidents a day (1008 in one year). Eight fatalities and 433 with injuries: half of the victims were pedestrians. Then there were the violations of the highway code: there were 59,154 warnings for penalties related to parking bans, a good 162 a day. And more than 22,000 reports are added for other articles that have not been respected.
These are numbers from the budget of the local police of Cagliari for the year 2022. The number of accidents on the streets of the capital has recorded an increase compared to the previous two years, but with a much lower trend than that of the period between 2015 and 2019 .
Among the others there is a fact of interest. And it concerns the age group most involved in the accidents that occurred in twelve months. The age range from 18 to 24 clearly prevails, with 167 male and 35 female drivers. And female motorists (or, in any case, drivers) register a significantly lower number of collisions than males.
