Alghero becomes a focal point for the regional debate on family policies and birth rate support. On Monday, December 22nd, at 10:00 a.m., a press conference will be held in the Porta Terra Hall to present the proposed Framework Law on Family Welfare and Birth Rate Support Policies . This initiative aims to outline new lines of action to combat population decline and strengthen the role of the family as a cornerstone of society. Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto will speak at the meeting, accompanied by Maria Grazia Salaris, Councilor for Family Policies, and Carla Fundoni, President of the Regional Commission on Family Policies. Regional councilors Valdo Di Nolfo, Piero Maieli, Francesca Masala, Antonello Peru, and Antonio Sau will also participate, along with Giovanni Deiana, Director General of the Presidency of the Sardinia Region. The discussion will also be enriched by contributions from the academic world and the most advanced national experiences in family policies, with the presence of the Rector of the University of Sassari, Gavino Mariotti, and Luciano Malfer, former Director General of the Family Agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento and promoter of the Bruno Kessler Foundation 's " People Strategy." The meeting will also include institutional representatives, local administrators, representatives of family associations, and other stakeholders involved in the process of developing regional family policies. "A broad dialogue with institutions and civil society," explains Cacciotto, "will contribute to the success of a proposal that, also thanks to the experience gained by the Municipality of Alghero, aims to provide a concrete path for the future of family policies in Sardinia and Italy."
