Putin's former loyalist Anatolij Chubais is in the hospital in Olbia.

The Russian economist, considered a man very close to the president until last March, when he left his country because he was against the war in Ukraine , was spending his holidays in a Costa Smeralda resort when he felt ill.

According to Repubblica after an initial alarm for a suspected poisoning, not yet excluded, the prevailing hypothesis from the first investigations is that it may be the symptoms of a neurological disease: Chubais, father of privatizations in Russia and already presidential envoy for the climate, would be affected from Guillian-Barre syndrome, a rare neurological disease that damages peripheral nerves.

"Suddenly - the man would have told the doctors - I began to have difficulty moving my legs and arms".

After the transport to the hospital, according to Avdotia Smirnova, Chubais's wife, the police sent their specialized technicians to carry out further investigations. "They came in with the suits and did a series of operations," he told some Russian media. But according to what was reported by Ansa sources , neither specialized police technicians nor other police forces have performed tests or samples inside the villa where Chubais is staying .
