It is Anna Maria Congiu, former director general of Cacip (until 2022), resident in Capoterra, the 56-year-old woman (she would have been on 22 September) who died this morning of an illness during a scuba dive in the Gulf of Cagliari.
According to an initial reconstruction, Congiu, who was not new to explorations at the bottom of the sea, felt ill when she boarded the dinghy of a diving center from Cagliari, while she was off the Quartese coast to reach a wreck.
The boat manager and the other companions immediately set course for the small port of Capitana, to bring the woman ashore. Meanwhile, the emergency services have been alerted. In the direction of Porto Armando, an ambulance also set off with sirens blaring, while the Areus helicopter stationed at Brotzu was also alerted.
But the timeliness of the intervention was useless: Congiu's heart stopped beating on the platform where resuscitation attempts were carried out for an hour.
The military of the Coast Guard and the agents of the Cagliari Police Headquarters have arrived at the port.
It will be the men of the Captaincy, who are listening to all the participants in the dive, who will reconstruct the dynamics of a dramatic accident that shocked many who knew the victim.
