He is charged with attempted murder for beating and running over his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend in Palermo on September 1st. For this, Federico Palmeri, a 25-year-old trapper known as Twenty Seven, was arrested in Sardinia—where he had since moved—and held in Bancali prison, pursuant to a precautionary warrant issued by the investigating judge of the Sicilian capital.
According to the police investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, the young man, along with four other people, allegedly attacked two young men last September 1st near a gas station. It was supposed to be a clarifying meeting between Palmeri and his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. However, when the two arrived on a scooter , the five people in the car, instead of getting out, struck the motorcycle. Once on the ground, the young men were reportedly beaten by the attackers.
The entire scene was captured by the service area's security cameras. The two victims were rescued and transported to the Palermo Polyclinic, where doctors gave prognosis of 15 and 7 days.
Palmeri had meanwhile moved to Sardinia, where he was located by officers from the Porto Cervo police station. The suspect was taken to the Sassari-Bancali prison.
