The Ministry of Education will be cited as civilly responsible in the trial against two teachers , now retired, who ended up in the dock in Nuoro for alleged mistreatment of the pupils of the Budoni kindergarten .
This was decided by the single judge Alessandra Ponti accepting the request of the lawyer of the civil party , Valeria Sau, who represents some families of the alleged victims .
The start of the trial is set for next 20 October .
THE ACCUSATIONS - The two teachers, Maria Agostina Mundula and Antonella Goddi, aged 69 and 59, must answer for mistreatment or abuse of means of correction , a formula that allows the two offenses to be integrated into a single fact.
INVESTIGATIONS - The facts date back to 2019 and emerged following the complaints of some parents . The harassment of the children had then been documented by the cameras and environmental bugs installed at the school by the carabinieri at the disposal of the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office: the images would have taken the teachers as they screamed at the little students, sometimes tugging at them to make them sit until they started some slaps .
Furthermore, the little ones would have been isolated from the activities of the class only to punish them , and without, according to the accusation, there was a real reason.
Subsequently, the investigating judge had ordered the suspension of both teachers , a measure then canceled by the review court. The return to school of Mundula and Goddi, however, had sparked protests from many parents , culminating in the decision to withdraw their children and enroll them in other institutions.
The two teachers , defended by lawyers Lorenzo Soro and Carmine Farina, have always rejected the accusations .
The civil parties, as well as by the lawyer Cau, are represented by Maria Antonietta Sinis, Gianfranco Flore, Paolo Canu, Mirella Patteri and Nello Ziri.
