The Council of State also rejected the request for suspension of the regional hunting calendar which had been presented by some environmental associations.

This is the second decision on the matter, after that of the Sardinia Tar. "On the subject of hunting - comments Marco Porcu, regional councilor for the defense of the environment - it is confirmed that the Region of Sardinia can decide independently ".

The Third Section justified the rejection by recalling how the regional legislator has envisaged an even more restrictive regime than the national one and the completely exceptional nature of the coincidence of a midweek holiday with one of the days (Tuesday and Friday) of hunting silence according to the legislation national.

«With this decision, the Council of State confirms the legitimacy of the Region's choices. In fact, the Regional Wildlife Committee had approved the proposal of the former councilor Lampis to include two midweek holidays (1 November 2022 and 6 January 2023) in the hunting calendar as well », added councilor Porcu.
