Hell of fire in the port of Castelsardo: seven boats destroyed

Seven boats destroyed by flames in the tourist port of Castelsardo . The hell of fire broke out just before 5 in the morning, when the alarm went off at the operations center of the Sassari fire brigade.

Five burnt boats sank , two others, damaged by the fire, were pushed off the coast for safety reasons thanks to the timely intervention of the firefighters.

On the spot the nautical teams departing from the Porto Torres detachment, also intervened by land and supported by the provincial command of Sassari. The core of divers prevented the flames from spreading to other vessels by unmooring the burning units brought out to sea.

The port area reclamation operations are underway. No injuries are reported . The guard officer and the carabinieri were also on site for the investigation of the case. The fire could be intentional but also caused by a short circuit. The images of the video surveillance cameras are being examined.
