The Todde Council is working to prepare a new tender with the aim of obtaining "a more efficient helicopter rescue service".
This was communicated by the regional health department, explaining that Areus, the service provider, will be entrusted with the task of carrying out a preliminary analysis and critical evaluation of the qualitative and quantitative results of the current service , which will be made available to the Region in view of the new tender.
"A procedure that was necessary to guarantee the certainty of continuity of service with specific attention to the criteria of quality, timeliness and safety that are indispensable in an insular and orographically discontinuous context such as that of our region", explains Councilor Armando Bartolazzi.
The HEMS, Helicopter Emergency Medical Service agreement, activated in 2019, which provided for the eight-year assignment to AREUS, the Emergency Medical Service Company, is still in force and will expire on 30 June 2026.
"Considering the time that would be necessary to complete the tender, it was decided to adopt a procedure entrusting it to the Regional Procurement Centre , which will be responsible for adopting the provisions regarding the drafting and approval of the tender documents, the publication of the tender notice and the completion of all the formalities up to the final award. This will avoid the risk of discontinuity of the air rescue service, with a cadenced and certified timetable" , concludes Bartolazzi.
