Healthcare, unions meet with the Region: "Ready for proposals, urgent answers are needed"
The face to face in viale Trento: among the issues on the table the shortage of doctors and the long waiting listsNow that the summer break is over, the first issue the Regional Council has to address is healthcare : not only are the services to be reorganised at stake, especially in areas where there is a lack of GPs , but also the age-old issue of long waiting lists .
After the first draft of the reform circulated at the end of June and which had a trail of controversy for the new structures of the health facilities and companies and for the procedures for appointing administrative and health directors, now the bill of the Council would have as its main axes the return of the Microcitemico to the Arnas Brotzu, of the Alghero hospital to the ASL of Sassari and a new reorganization of the Ares to avoid duplication.
It cannot be ruled out that the new corporate structure could lead to receiverships and therefore top-level appointments in the ASL, AOU and Arnas Brotzu before the natural expiry of the contracts of the current managers, scheduled for December 2026.
These points have already been addressed in a majority summit at the end of July and now, including the other critical issues of the regional health system, they will be examined in depth in an initial face-to-face meeting with the unions, called for tomorrow at 5 pm in Viale Trento .
The Council wants to speed up the process to bring the measure to the Chamber as soon as possible, also because with the restart of the work of the Regional Council there will be other important issues to discuss.
In the meantime, the current draft on healthcare is top secret - also to avoid the leaks of June - and only tomorrow will it be presented by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde and the Health Councilor Armando Bartolazzi to Cgil, Cisl and Uil.
Since discussions with the acronyms are still ongoing, the bill will not be brought to the Council tomorrow.
At the table for the three unions will be regional secretaries Fausto Durante (Cgil), Pierluigi Ledda (Cisl) and Francesca Ticca (Uil) . "We are presenting ourselves at the meeting on healthcare with a list of problems to address and a document with ideas and possible suggestions - the leader of the Cisl anticipates - We expect concrete answers, a timetable for the main emergencies and a change of pace from everyone, politicians and managers : the gravity of the situation in which our healthcare finds itself - warns Ledda - does not allow for running-in periods, other months of study or procrastination. Urgent answers are needed ". "As unions - he explains - we strongly wanted this first meeting: poor service and shortages are the order of the day , we have seen many recipes for reducing waiting lists in recent years, none of which are truly effective. The Cisl has its operational and viable proposals and we will discuss them in a spirit of collaboration ".
"No one has a magic wand to solve the problems - concludes Ledda -, we are all aware of this. In the same way, we hope that everyone is aware that the Sardinian public health system is inexorably collapsing and that there is less and less time to save it".
