Healthcare, precarious Oss of ASL 8 ready for hunger strike. Desirè Manca: «There are others»
The operators have not yet been made permanent despite being included in a ranking that provides for rapid hiringVideo di Stefano Fioretti
Without solutions, the dispute will worsen day after day: "Some colleagues could start a hunger and thirst strike as early as today." This is what Gianfranco Angioni, USB spokesperson for the 26 precarious Oss workers operating during the Covid period and camped out under the Regional Council for a week, declares. The operators in question have not yet been made permanent despite being included in a primary hiring list.
Today a delegation was heard in the Labor and Health commissions convened jointly. On the same topic, the councilors for Labor and Health, Desirè Manca and Armando Bartolazzi of the Five Star Movement, will also speak in the parliaments shortly. For whom, however, the problem of stabilization cannot be limited to the case of the 26 Oss.
"We need to do a survey of all the Oss who worked during the pandemic throughout the Region - explained Desirè Manca on the sidelines of the session - I am a regional councilor, and I believe that a solution must be found for the stabilization of everyone, not just the 26". How many are there? " Our technical offices have repeatedly asked for an estimate from all the Local Health Authorities - said Bartolazzi - there are still open rankings. Now, we need to understand if the Oss are necessary in all the Local Health Authorities, we must guarantee all the places throughout Sardinia, so they should also be available to move".
On the timing: " Commissioners are underway, the organization of health facilities will have to be redone. The Oss depend on how many beds are activated. On the basis of a survey of this type, all the staff will have to be defined". In short, the timing is getting longer. "These are people who contributed with their work in the worst period for global health - observes the president of the Labor Commission Camilla Soru (Pd) - and who, according to national legislation, have the right to be stabilized".
In this specific case, "26 were left out also due to wrong choices by the general management of the ASL, which preferred to give priority to the competitive ranking. Now we are here to listen to them" . Camilla Soru hopes that "something can be done in the next Budget", given that "it is not the Regional Council that makes the hirings in the ASL, we need to review the ASL's needs plan, and also the hiring capacity of the ASL 8 of Cagliari to understand the margins of intervention". In any case, "these people have priority, a national law that calls for their stabilization says so".
