«The health of citizens has the absolute priority and the meeting with the regional health councilor Bertolazzi and the president of the Health Commission of the Fundoni regional council, whom we thank for their presence, is an important signal of the direction we want to pursue as a city and as a Region, starting from listening to the problems of hospital and local healthcare".
Thus the mayor of Alghero, Raimondo Cacciotto, following the visit of the regional councilor for Hygiene, Health and Social Assistance, Armando Bartolazzi, to the Civile and Marino hospital facilities and the meeting with all the directors of the services.
«Not all matters are the responsibility of the municipal administration and the mayor, we are aware of this – adds Cacciotto – but we will do everything possible to ensure that healthcare facilities receive the attention and support they need. The already precarious situation in which the city's healthcare finds itself worsens further during the summer period and the inevitable difficulties resulting from it are naturally to the detriment of the residents and visitors who every year choose the North West of Sardinia as a holiday destination", explains the mayor, urging the reopening of the Birth Centre, the 24-hour presence of paediatricians, the restoration of the Cardiology service and the Dialysis and Resuscitation departments.
