"We talked about numbers in hand", added the commissioner, specifying that " in terms of recruitment in three years we have announced 140 competitions , more than half already completed in addition to hundreds of selections and stabilizations. Some of these competitions, however, , were banned and repeated several times because the number of participants was not sufficient to meet the needs of our health system . As regards specialists, moreover, it is increasingly common that competitions are used as an alternative tool to mobility by doctors who are already To give a figure, in the last competition for specialists in anesthesia and resuscitation out of one hundred candidates, only three doctors were not yet employed in our hospitals ".

“A general picture - continues the commissioner - which is not a peculiarity of our region. Sardinia faces a shortage of health personnel, in particular medical specialists, which comes from afar and affects the entire national territory. Greater flexibility would certainly allow us to intervene more effectively, in particular, on the suffering of peripheral hospitals. We posed the question in Rome, without ever having received an answer ”.

Furthermore, strengthening trade union relations with health companies will certainly be an objective that will find our utmost commitment and collaboration. To give support to the principals in difficulty - concluded the commissioner - I asked the unions to raise awareness among staff , as we have always done, to promote adherence to the incentives made available thanks to the instrument of additional regional resources ”.
