A hundred people marching from Meana Sardo to Atzara for the right to health.

The parade - the twelfth promoted in recent months to keep attention on health problems in Sardinia - was organized by the Sos Sanità Barbagia Mandrolisai committee and other spontaneous committees.

The participants urge the safeguarding of the San Camillo di Sorgono hospital but also of basic medicine and medical guards.

SOS HEALTH - "We continue to defend our rights, we are a hard core of activists who do not give up - said Franca Salvai of the Sos Sanità Barbagia Mandrolisai Committee - and we claim what the law recognizes us: from Ministerial Decree 70 up to the redefinition law Sardinian hospital network. It is said that the hospital of Sorgono must be located within the disadvantaged areas: the distances from other hospitals are such that we are entitled to a functioning hospital in the area with an emergency room, a radiology department and other departments for acute, functioning and active. Services that until a few years ago were guaranteed, then the collapse and closure of almost all services. There are no general practitioners and medical guards . Let's say enough of this situation we want what we deserve of law ".

MAYORS - Some mayors and representatives of municipal administrations were also present at the march.

"As administrators and citizens we claim to have the same rights to health as other Sardinians in the less disadvantaged areas than ours - explains the mayor of Meana Sardo Marco Demuro - We live in an isolated territory, we cannot count on distant hospitals but we want the one in Sorgono should be reactivated at least with essential services. We cannot transfer our families to Nuoro every time. The problems are also on the front of basic medicine, soon we must prepare to travel many kilometers even for a prescription ".

"We have the right to decent public health care according to the provisions of Ministerial Decree 70 - says the mayor of Atzara Alessandro Corona - We want an active hospital with the possibility of staying inside. Now if you break an arm you have to go to Nuoro with everything what follows for patients and families. We have a machine donated by 13 municipalities in the area to process swabs and it is not used because there is a lack of reagents. But there is also the problem of basic medicine that affects several municipalities in the short term it will affect many common. We will not stop until they give us what we are entitled to. "

SAN GAVINO - A demonstration in favor of the right to health was also held in San Gavino Monreale, with several citizens of the Health Protection Committee who met at the Nostra Signora di Bonaria hospital to say "enough" to the size that services in the Medio Campidano are undergoing.
