The financial police of the Oristano Financial Police Group have concluded an investigation that led to the reporting to the Judicial Authority of an employee of the Municipality of Simaxis who was using a car owned by the Union of Municipalities of the Lower Tirso and Grighine Valley for private purposes.

As confirmed by the Guardia di Finanza, the man continued to use the agency's vehicle without any problems after his work hours. Investigative efforts have gathered evidence to prove his "constant and exclusive" use.

The matter is now being examined by the Oristano Public Prosecutor's Office, which will assess the criminal liability of the suspect. The dishonest employee has also been reported to the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors to determine any potential financial damage.

The Guardia di Finanza "supports central and local governments in adopting an anti-fraud strategy aimed at combating illegal activities and waste, strengthening administrative oversight activities and participating in the "Anti-Fraud Contact Persons Network." Safeguarding public spending means ensuring that the taxes paid by citizens are used correctly, translating into services for the community."
