A 31-year-old was arrested in Cagliari for resistance and injuries to a Public Official .

The incident took place late yesterday afternoon in the San Michele district, when the agents of the Flying Squad tried to check a scooter with two people on board.

The driver , after initially hinting to stop the vehicle, resumed the march in an attempt to gain the escape , voluntarily attempting to run over the agent who in the meantime had got off the steering wheel to proceed with the check.

In the impact with the policeman , the man fell to the ground and, in an attempt to get up, was immediately blocked by the agents.

The policeman involved in the clash, after first aid provided by 118 personnel, was accompanied to the hospital for the necessary treatment.

The man, an offender with numerous criminal records, was accompanied to the Police Headquarters for the usual investigations and held in the security rooms under arrest and awaiting the direct hearing scheduled for today morning.
