The troubled waters of these hours have prevented him from being able to return to shore. This is how a 65-year-old Swiss tourist died this morning in front of the beach of Capo Ferrato, in the municipality of Muravera.

It happened shortly after 11. The man dived regardless of the red flag, a symbol that indicates the dangerous conditions for bathing, together with his wife. The two, made a series of strokes, then tried to regain the shore but without success.

The lifeguards ran to the rescue and dragged them to the shore. The 56-year-old had already fainted and the attempts at resuscitation by the 118 of Muravera rescuers proved useless.

The police patrols of the Muravera and Castiadas stations intervened on the spot.
