To avoid detection, she set up a plan that went up in smoke. The intent of a tourist was to have in her home in Germany , in a small town in Bavaria, the quartz grains of the beach of Is Arutas but, to avoid the risk of having everything seized upon departure from Sardinia, she decided to send the package containing about half a kilo of sand by post.

However, she ran into a careful employee who, while handling the package , noticed something strange and alerted the police who found two cellophane bags with stolen sand inside the envelope.

Now the tourist , who paid 11 euros for the shipment, will have to pay a very high price for a hefty fine.

To make the story known is the Sardinia Stolen and Depreded association: "Being perfectly aware of committing a crime, but having no intention of giving up the loot, this person, with the presumed superior mind, has devised the perfect plan - writes the association on social networks -. Send a postal package with the stolen goods to your home to avoid incurring annoying judicial problems. In a few weeks, instead of the precious booty, our Nordic friend will always receive an envelope but containing a notification of a crime contestation and an injunction to pay the relative sanction ".

" The sand stolen from the beach of Is Arutas, on the other hand , will very soon return to its place and our dear friend of the Post Office will take care of it, to whom our deep gratitude must be paid", concludes the association.
