Adrift off Marceddì, on Christmas night.

The unfortunate fisherman went out in the early afternoon of December 24th for a recreational fishing trip in the Gulf of Oristano with the aim of recovering the catch for the Christmas dinner.

A dinner that he never had, because upon returning the engine of the small boat did not restart, leaving the victim at the mercy of the sea and with the oncoming darkness.

Not only that, the telephone signal was absent so the fisherman - in panic given the arrival of the dark - by rowing he managed to reach the small beach of Torre Nuova with no effort. From there, late in the night, he managed to get in touch with the Oristano Police Headquarters which in turn alerted - it was now 3.30 am - the Harbor Master's Office.

Rescue was immediately taken with the CP 893 patrol boat which, under the command of Marshal Pirastu, brought the fisherman on board, cold and very frightened but in good health, so much so that the intervention of 118 was not even necessary.
