His name was Ignazio Casula, 61 years old, from Quartu, the victim of the accident that occurred on Thursday evening around 5:30 pm at kilometer 26 of the State Road 197, between Furtei and Sanluri.
While crossing the road, Casula was hit by a pick-up truck that threw him into the middle of the roadway . Subsequently, he was hit by two other vehicles. The first of these continued on without stopping, while the driver of the second vehicle stopped to call for help.
Despite the timely arrival of a 118 ambulance, the sixty-one-year-old died before receiving medical assistance. The Carabinieri of the Furtei Station intervened on site, carrying out the initial investigations and surveys necessary to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
The investigations are also aimed at identifying the vehicle that drove away without providing assistance. A year ago, due to illness, the family had already suffered a serious loss for the death of Ignazio Casula's son.
