A total of 5 kilos of hashish was hidden in a package delivered , like many others, to a locker in Oristano . This is what the finance police of the Sassari Provincial Command discovered, in collaboration with their colleagues in Oristano, who arrested a thirty-five-year-old resident of the province of Cagliari red-handed . The man was stopped upon collection : inside the package, the drugs were already divided into pre-packaged blocks, ready for sale. Subsequent checks at other collection points in the area resulted in the seizure of additional drugs, totaling 10 kilos, which would have fetched approximately €100,000 on the market.

The operation began with a routine check on shipments handled by an express courier in Olbia. During the checks, officers from the Olbia Group's canine unit identified a suspicious box thanks to the alert of drug-sniffing dog Semia , attracted by the strong odor of cannabinoids. The package was destined for a self-collection point in a shopping center in Oristano, but the sender and recipient's names were missing, in an attempt to avoid any traceability.

At that point, investigators , coordinated by the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office, waited near the hub to identify the person who would be attempting to collect the package . The man showed up just as the shopping center was closing, but the Guardia di Finanza officers from Olbia and Oristano were waiting for him and intervened immediately, stopping him. After arresting the thirty-five-year-old and recovering the narcotics, the search continued, combing the other lockers in the city, where additional narcotics were seized.
According to estimates, over 10,000 doses could have been obtained from the seized drugs, with an overall value of the narcotics that could have generated illicit profits estimated at around 100,000 euros.
