After the provisional go-ahead from the Giunta, there is also the approval (among the controversies) of the Culture commission of the regional council for the return in grand style, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary, of the celebrations for Sa die de sa Sardigna, the celebration of 28 April called in 1993: half a million allocated to commemorate the so-called "Sardinian Vespers", i.e. the popular insurrection which in 1794 led to the "expulsion" of the Piedmontese from Cagliari.

The funds will go to the Municipalities of Cagliari (260,000), Bono (5,000), Sassari (45,000), Oristano (80,000), Nuoro (80,000) and Barumini (30,000), which have planned a series of events that will begin on 28 April and end on the 30th.

In the shadow of the palace discovered by Giovanni Lilliu, the "Historical commemoration on the civilization of the Nuragic Sardinians: warrior investiture and election of the tribal chief" is planned. And it is on demonstrations like this one, with little connection to the memory of Sa Die, that the oppositions' remarks have focused. Desirè Manca (M5S), Massimo Zedda (Progressives) and Eugenio Lai (Alleanza Europa Verde - Sinistra - Possibile - Art.1), among other things, underlined that they " do not understand the choice of initiatives included in the three days of celebrations which they have little to do with the historical anniversary of 28 April 1794, which recalls the insurrection of the Sardinian people against the Piedmontese».

Concerns have also been raised on the subdivision of the funds, «which do not involve all the territories of the island. A position also shared by Franco Stara (Udc Sardinia in the centre)», reads a note from the Council, «who announced the vote of abstention, and by Franco Mula and Domenico Gallus (Psd'Az), who, while voting in , have hoped for a discussion with the commissioner to give equal dignity to all territories.
