Over sixteen hours of travel to avoid the rough sea, with gusts of western wind at a speed of 20 knots, approximately 38 kilometers per hour.

The Moby Orli ferry which left Genoa yesterday had to change route to safely reach the Porto Torres port. It docked in the port this morning, around midday, compared to the scheduled time of 8.30: a delay due to bad weather which, once again, forced the captain to change route, going east of Corsica, the inland stretch near to the Peninsula sheltered from the winds, to avoid the stormy sea to the west.

It was the passengers who suffered the inconveniences of the long crossing, with over 16 hours of exhausting travel due to the weather and sea conditions which affected maritime connections with the Island.

The adverse sea conditions at the Strait of Bonifacio are often the cause of the change of route and diversion of ships towards the port of Olbia.
