He saw himself slipping 4,400 euros from his current account after receiving a text message and a call from a so-called Italian Post Office operator inviting him to provide him with the access codes to his digital application to help him defend himself from an online fraud attempt.

The man, a 20-year-old from Guspini , fell into the trap and after providing his credentials he saw the large sum of money stolen .

The Carabinieri's investigations made it possible to trace the perpetrator of the deception, a sixty-five-year-old Neapolitan man, well known to the police for similar previous events.

The man was reported for aggravated fraud.
