Two people sat at a table in a restaurant in the central Via Santa Maria in Guspini and after having lunch they fled without paying the bill.

"On Thursday at lunchtime, two men showed up, both in their mid-30s," Libero Caria, owner of the Santa Maria restaurant located in the central street of the same name in town, tells incredulously. "After carefully reading the menu that was brought to them by the waitress, they chose a mixed appetizer, a first course of spaghetti carbonara and one with clams, and a second course that, however, they did not eat."

"The two of them seemed to enjoy eating, they happily consumed everything we brought to the table and every now and then they got up to go out for a smoke. Never together, however, they took turns: one remained seated and the other smoked at the door. Before consuming the second course, however, they quietly left, leaving a bill that, considering only the drinks and the first courses, was 50 euros . I was astonished." It was useless to try to catch the two freeloaders again, in an instant there was no one left on the street.

The restaurateur reported the incident to the police, providing information to identify the two who, among other things, were filmed by video surveillance cameras . "We are also saddened by other unpleasant incidents," says Caria, "here as elsewhere some customers paid with fake 50 euro notes."
