He made fake papers and contracts to collect agricultural funding. The money did not arrive but a complaint did, against a 58-year-old from Guspini , now accused of fraud by the carabinieri.

The failed scheme seemed well thought out. Owner of land and of a company, in order to try to meet the parameters to receive money from Argea (Agency for the management and disbursement of aid in agriculture), he had created false leases on 28 hectares of land, in the name of five unsuspecting tenants, in exchange for just 900 euros a year for five years: he had also kept a low rent to pay few taxes.

Despite the Argea stratagem, which had already had to deal with the 58-year-old, for three years in a row he did not pay the requested subsidies.

The story would have ended like this, if a forty-seven year old from Olbia, consulting her tax drawer, had not discovered that she was the tenant of a land in Guspini, of which she knew nothing. She presented herself to the carabinieri of the country to file a complaint. Hence the investigation and the file arrived at the Prosecutor's Office.
