Grasshoppers, the anger of the countryside: "Where are the refreshments?"

They raise their voices, they lash out at the Region and do not admit further wasting of time. Farmers and breeders in central Sardinia are asking for immediate interventions, a real prevention campaign in the fight against grasshoppers. “In my opinion, the land can still be plowed, at least for a few weeks: it is a pity that no one has provided us with the maps for plowing”, declares Sergio Sulas, Bolotana farmer and Copagri delegate for the grasshopper emergency. Giovanni Mureddu, a breeder and farmer from Fonnese who has been transplanted to Ottana for years, adds: “I proceeded independently and plowed my lands. So, if we wait for the Region we are fresh. To date we have not received even a cent of the infamous refreshments ”. Meanwhile, the leader of the League in the Regional Council, Pierluigi Saiu, addresses the Councilor of Agriculture, Gabriella Murgia. And he declares: "In the Fifth Commission immediately the data on the progress in the liquidation of refreshments to farms damaged by grasshoppers and on the prevention actions implemented by the Giunta".
