Bitten, killed and gutted by a pack of stray dogs: in Golfo Aranci there is a mass of Sardinian mouflon puppies, a protected species, at risk of extinction . The incident was reported by the municipal councilor of the minority group Cambia con noi, Giuly Masala, who spoke of public danger and asked for the attention of the municipal administration and the responsible bodies.

According to Masala, within twenty-four hours in the area between Monte Ruju and Capo Figari, three specimens, less than a year old, were killed by three Maremma-like shepherds who roam the town undisturbed, spreading terror among the residents.

"The problem must be addressed immediately, they are dangerous dogs without control, to be captured and entrusted to kennels for all the necessary care and attention," says the councilor.

The remains of the Sardinian mouflon puppies were found thanks to the refusal of a hiker's dog and the intervention of the Forestry Corps, in the meantime some volunteers are monitoring the area with the use of camera traps.
