The development project for accommodation purposes of the former lookout traffic light station and the Luigi Serra Battery, located in Golfo Aranci, must be subject to the Impact Assessment (VincA). This is the recommendation of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security in response to the request for verification of the deeds of assignment of the two structures, granted for thirty years by the Region to the company New Fari srl, sent to the competent bodies by the municipal councilor of the Cambia con group us, Andrea Viola, who asked for the possible withdrawal in self-defense of the concession due to an alleged substantial defect in the tender documentation.

Given that the Mase has no competence on the procedures for issuing concessions on state-owned assets, the department replies that "every initiative within the Natura 2000 sites, which includes the entire Capo Figari area, must be subject to an Incidence Assessment in order to verify that the proposed activities do not cause significant negative interference with the conservation objectives of the Sites". And this evaluation, continues the ministry, "must be conducted by the Region which will have to evaluate the environmental impacts potentially generated by the entire project, such as those connected to the restructuring and adaptation of the structures, to the implementation of infrastructural and road works as well as those linked to the increase in the anthropic load on the entire promontory".

Not only that, the ministry's response concludes, "the evaluation procedure provides for a phase of public consultation with the various stakeholders". Viola comments: "All this has not yet happened and the ministry's response to my request is the first step towards achieving the complete withdrawal of the tender".
