«According to local administrators, the work carried out at the foot of the promontory of Capo Figari and Monte Ruju to create the (paid) parking lot for the 105 Summer Festival would not be in a protected area and would be supported by all municipal and regional authorizations, but the documents tell a different story». This is what the Maremosso citizens' committee said regarding the work carried out by the municipal administration to make room for a parking area serving the musical event that took place two days ago in Golfo Aranci. Maremosso had raised the issue by documenting, with some photos posted on social media, the transformation of an area falling within the Special Protection Zone and Site of Community Interest after the passage of bulldozers that would have «razed the existing Mediterranean scrub to the ground».

With documents in hand , the mayor, Giuseppe Fasolino, had justified the operation with the possession of all the necessary authorizations , including the Environmental Impact Assessment according to which the intervention would not have an impact on the integrity of the site included in the Natura 2000 network which protects the conservation of biodiversity.

Maremosso, however, the day after the concert, replied: « In that area the Mediterranean scrub was slowly growing back after a fire and instead it was razed to the ground, erasing years of natural regeneration in a fragile and protected ecosystem and it is very serious that those who should protect our environmental heritage favor the exploitation of an area that should be carefully looked after».
