Cagliari gets a makeover. The Municipality provides 13 million euros for three years to redo the roads: new pavements, new sidewalks, new signs, up to the repair of potholes. The contract also includes management for the maintenance of the Castello lifts: the contract provides that emergencies are managed with an intervention within 20 minutes of notification. Outside of emergencies, the company is required to intervene within 24 hours.

The tender was assigned last August and now the administration is drawing the line for the first six months of activity of the Global Service. "It is an important contract", says the mayor Paolo Truzzu, "which will help us improve the road network in the city".

There are many new features of the new contract: the toll-free number for citizens' reports (800116444) for example, is one of these. «The whole system is georeferenced, we expect a large participation of Cagliari citizens through the toll-free number. We will intervene on the basis of critical issues, trying to give the most urgent answers".
