A serious accident shattered the serenity of Ghilarza on the eve of the procession of Sant'Isidoro. This morning, around 9:00 a.m., a horse grazing in the "Pardu" countryside jumped over the surrounding wall and headed toward provincial road no. 15 , on Via del Mandrolisai, near Su Cantaru on the outskirts of town.

The collision with a passing car was inevitable, resulting in serious damage to the vehicle, but the owner was unharmed. The horse, however, suffered serious injuries; he tried to get up several times but was ultimately put down . The Oristano Local Health Authority's veterinary service, after thorough examinations, determined that there was nothing more they could do.

The animal was owned by Francesco Sini, a young knight from Ghilarza, who was particularly shocked by the incident given the affection he felt for the animal.

The Ghilarza Carabinieri radiomobile immediately arrived on the scene, carrying out initial investigations and regulating traffic. They were joined by members of the Ghilarza Equestrian Association, led by Raffaele Sini, brother of the horse's owner.

The feast of Saint Isidore, one of the most important in the agricultural and pastoral world, will therefore be celebrated with a touch of sadness due to this episode, given that everything is now ready for the most important religious celebration of the year, which involves the entire agricultural and pastoral world.
