A 47-year-old man was arrested and taken to Uta prison for attacking a GP inside a medical laboratory in the area of Via Santa Maria Chiara in Cagliari this morning .

As far as we know, the patient got nervous, probably because of the excessive wait, and after an argument with the doctor, he brutally attacked him . The victim is Roberto Sollai : the professional, taken to the emergency room of SS. Trinità by the 118 staff, suffered very serious injuries and a long prognosis, of dozens of days .

Sollai, the ASL reports, was discharged late in the morning with "a long prognosis and a complicated health process that will not allow him to work for a long time" .

The agents of the Cagliari Police Headquarters' flying squad also intervened on the scene, restoring calm and taking the patient to the Police Headquarters before making the arrest.

The episode comes after the sensational case in Foggia and in a climate of growing tension towards the category , which is also mobilizing on the Island against the numerous attacks that medical personnel are suffering throughout Italy.

The regional health councillor, Armando Bartolazzi, also had a harsh comment on the episode: «A vile episode to be condemned».
