The prosecution had asked for 4 years in prison for the former regional councilor of Sassari and former secretary of Psd'Az, Giacomo Sanna . The judges of the Court of Cagliari sentenced him yesterday to 2 years and 8 months, acquitting him of one part of the embezzlement charges and declaring others prescribed.

The former regional councilor and councilor had gotten into trouble in the context of the investigation into the funds destined for the groups of the XIII legislature. Defended by the lawyers Agostinangelo Marras and Benedetto Ballero, in Sanna the prosecutor contested expenses for 43 thousand euros.

In application of the Cartabia, within 60 days, he may request admission to socially useful work with the consequent extinction of the crime, or appeal after filing the reasons.
