From the sea to the lake: Sarcidano's curious alternative

Summer doesn't always mean the sea. In the Sarcidano area, the cool destination is the Basso Flumendosa lake. This morning, several people loaded umbrellas and deckchairs into their cars, heading for the lake shores below Villanova Tulo.

Although the basin was almost dry, the atmosphere was reminiscent of a small improvised beach: bright sunshine, chatter among friends, and a pinch of adventurous spirit.
Far from the heat of the villages and the coastal traffic, the lake offered an unusual and picturesque respite.
