Four searches were carried out on four suspects residing in the Cagliari area as part of an investigation conducted by the Postal Police, under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office, into the illegal distribution of editions of L'Unione Sarda via online instant messaging platforms.

The investigation by the Sardinia Cyber Security Operations Center began following a report by the publishing group of the unauthorized distribution of several copies of the newspaper, which, according to the reconstruction, could be traced back to three subscribers.

The results of the searches confirmed the investigative hypothesis regarding two suspects: one was involved in publishing copies of L'Unione Sarda, as well as other newspapers and periodicals, on social media groups, while the other was involved in distributing and modifying them, by removing codes traceable to subscribers.

The phones and social media accounts of one of the suspects were seized, as was the personal computer, which contained further evidence of his involvement in the illicit resale of IPTV subscriptions.

Investigative efforts continue to identify customers of the illegal streaming service.
