Leonardo Fadda, a 26-year-old man from Pirri, Cagliari , who was seriously injured yesterday in an accident on Provincial Road 2 in Villamassargia, has died. Attempts to keep him alive by the intensive care team at Brotzu Hospital, where he had been hospitalized after an emergency air ambulance, were unsuccessful. He died this morning.

Fadda was driving his car, a Fiat Grande Punto, returning from Sulcis – where he worked – towards the capital, when he lost control: the vehicle overturned and ended up off the road.

The young man's condition appeared extremely serious to the 118 emergency responders who arrived on the scene to provide first aid. And after less than 12 hours, all hope was sadly dashed.

Fadda worked in the maritime industry and was well-known in the world of football. The news of his death has sparked immense grief.

"The entire Sardara Calcio community —president, management, and players—wishfully embraces the family of Leonardo Fadda, our former member who sadly passed away this morning," reads the Polisportiva Sardara 1983 profile. "Leo was a cheerful young man, always part of the team, loved by everyone, and he will remain in our hearts, as well as in the recent history of our club. Farewell, Leo, forever one of us."
