The Cagliari Forestry Station conducted a series of inspections aimed at environmental protection within the Molentargius–Saline Regional Natural Park. During the inspections, staff identified two large piles of special waste, including hazardous waste—soil, aggregates, household goods, and other materials—located near a pond in the Perdalonga–Costa Bentu area, in the Quartu Sant'Elena area.

Following investigations, investigators identified the perpetrator, who was reported, and proceeded to seize a large portion of the protected area.

Also in October, the Forestry Station completed a second operation to combat the dumping of urban waste within the Park . CFVA staff identified a man who, on a regular basis for at least six months, had been illegally disposing of household waste by abandoning it in the Medau Su Cramu area – via Is Arenas.

The man was caught red-handed while depositing several large bags containing household waste, which he had transported by car from a nearby home.

A resident within the protected area, he was also not registered on the TARI (waste disposal tax) lists , and therefore lacked the proper containers for waste disposal. In addition to the applicable fines, he will have to pay cleanup costs and pay the waste tax.
