Registration is officially open for the traditional fire jumping ritual of the Focs de Sant Joan 2026, one of the most heartfelt and iconic events of the Alghero summer. The city is preparing to experience four days of tradition, friendship, and brotherhood from June 20th to 23rd, culminating on the night of June 23rd on San Giovanni beach.

Anticipation is growing for a celebration that has now become an Alghero tradition, attracting hundreds of people every year eager to seal a special bond through the ancient rite of comparatico.

"San Giovanni, may this fire we are about to leap over not burn us, so that we may continue to be friends and gossips," is the motto that accompanies the ritual, celebrated every year by a growing number of couples on San Giovanni beach. Registration is required to participate.

Registrations can be made at Spazio T at Via Kennedy 107 from Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the Pro Loco gazebo during Wine Week Alghero on June 12th and 13th, and subsequently at the San Giovanni gazebo from June 20th to 23rd. Tickets for the Sant Joan 2026 Lottery will also be available at the same time. Registration is required to ensure the safe management of the bonfire and brazier area during the event.

The Focs de Sant Joan, under the artistic direction of Chiara Murru, are organized by Pro Loco Alghero with the support of the Municipality of Alghero, the Alghero Foundation, the Sardinia Region, the Porto Conte Park, the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, and numerous institutional and private partners.
