Ryanair has been ruled against for the serious disruptions that occurred on flight FR1560, scheduled to depart from Cagliari-Elmas to Palma de Mallorca on June 22, 2023.
The flight, initially scheduled to depart at 7:55 PM, was delayed by almost six hours, taking off only at 1:50 AM the next day and landing at its destination at 3:05 AM, a final delay of 5 hours and 50 minutes compared to the scheduled time of 9:15 PM.
The ruling, issued by the Justice of the Peace of Cagliari on 23 July 2025, fully upheld the claims of Italia Rimborso, which protected two passengers, ordering Ryanair to pay a total of 500 euros (250 euros for each passenger involved) as financial compensation.
The judge recognized the full legitimacy of the action brought by ItaliaRimborso as the agent representing the passengers, rejecting all preliminary objections raised by the airline, including the alleged inadmissibility of the action due to the failure to undertake the mandatory conciliation attempt before the Article.
The court also noted that there were no exceptional circumstances that could exonerate Ryanair from its liability.
