Alarm on Monday evening at the port of Cagliari, shortly after the departure of a Grimaldi ferry.

Some flames broke out from the smokestack of the ship that had just set sail for Civitavecchia (via Arbatax) with a car and 93 passengers on board, followed by a thick blanket of smoke .

Some people who were in the port noticed the episode and raised the alarm.

The stop was immediate, with the vessel going into harbor to allow the intervention of the Port Authority and the firefighters and operations aimed at the safe disembarkation of travellers.

Flames and smoke coming from the boat were also spotted from Via Roma , as some videos show, and an acrid smell quickly spread throughout the area.

According to initial information, it was a problem with the cooling system.

Checks and checks were carried out before the restart was given, which took place after midnight.
