The Forestry Corps has identified the alleged person responsible for the vast fire, still not completely put out, which broke out in the countryside of Sarroch , not far from Saras, and which led to the evacuation of about fifteen people from some houses.

This is a 78-year-old who will be reported for negligent fire: he was burning some branches and was unable to control the fire , on a day characterized by the very strong mistral wind.

After the alarm, several fire brigade teams, the Forestry Corps and volunteers intervened on site. Two Canadairs were also in action to support the ground operations, but the intervention of the air vehicles was problematic: one, in fact, had a breakdown and returned, while the second had to leave the skies of Sarroch precisely because of the strong gusts of wind.

The flames are currently limited to a ridge, but in a point that is difficult to access, a situation which further complicates operations to definitively extinguish the flames.
