There's no respite for the island, besieged by fires that threaten to severely damage pastures and vegetation. This afternoon, around 2:30 PM, firefighter teams from the Sassari headquarters responded to a vegetation fire in the San Martino area , between the municipalities of Florinas and Ploaghe.

Forestry teams coordinated the extinguishing operations on the scene, working in collaboration with Civil Protection and Forestas groups. Two helicopters from the regional firefighting fleet were also in the air. After three hours of intervention, cleanup work began to prevent further outbreaks. The flames damaged entire fields, blackening hectares of land, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Another fire has broken out in Pozzomaggiore, where a light helicopter from the Anela base responded to the fire. On the ground, Forestry Corps personnel are working to put out the flames in the "Serra Suelzu" area . The local Forestry Station's DOS (Operation and Operations Unit) is coordinating the firefighting operations, requesting the dispatch of another aircraft. The twin-engine AS332 Super Puma from Alà dei Sardi is arriving.
