Six days after the sinking of the fishing boat north of the island of Asinara , a solidarity movement has been launched in Santa Teresa, the coastal town from which the vessel set sail on August 7th.
Three people were aboard the fishing vessel, rescued by another fishing vessel and later by the Porto Torres Coast Guard. The economic damage resulting from the sinking of the vessel "Sandokan," suffered by the Pangrani family, has prompted the community of Santa Teresa di Gallura to launch a fundraiser to support the fishermen left without their work tools, their main source of income.
The mayor of the Gallura town, Nadia Matta, had expressed her sympathy to the Pangrani family. The three fishermen were on a fishing trip, a few miles off the coast of Porto Torres, when their vessel began taking on water.
The "Daniela Pangrani causale" initiative has created a solidarity fund for Sandokan, where donations can be made to provide financial support to the family.
