The 14-metre Cagliari fishing boat, the Nibio, sank to a depth of 200 metres, two miles off the coast of Capo Ferrato, shipwrecked last night with two fishermen, also from Cagliari, including the shipowner Salvatore Giordano.

The fishermen managed to lower the life raft into the water and save themselves while the motorboat sank to quickly disappear under the black sea of the night.
After May Day, the two fishermen were joined by the Cp 307 patrol boat leaving the port of Cagliari, recovered and assisted to be accompanied to the city. They were fine and had no need for health care.
An investigation has now been opened into the sinking . The risk is that situations of pollution may occur due to the fuel present in the tanks. A phenomenon averted for now.
A Coast Guard patrol boat and a helicopter are also operating on site this morning to discover any oil slicks.
