Two people reported and a speargun and seized fishing nets : this is the balance of the operation against fish poaching conducted by the Forestry Corps of Cagliari in the Molentargius regional natural park.

The checks were started between 18 and 23 August and made it possible to identify, in the water course called "Canale Mortu" and already affected by the phenomenon of illegal fish taking, a person immersed in the water and intent on fishing with a spear gun, mask, fins, snorkel and net . A second person was, on the other hand, on the ground with the function of "lookout" in order to escape the controls.

The two people were then arrested and identified : the crime of fishing within an area destined to a regional park was challenged and which provides for the arrest of up to 12 months and a fine of up to 30 thousand euros . The materials used have been seized.

Also as part of the same operation, fishing nets were seized , placed by unknown persons and for an extension of about 30 meters, to block some canals.
