Thirty-three fires broke out in just a few hours in as many areas of Sardinia with air vehicles forced to take off to support the teams overland to put out the fire in 9 locations .
These are the numbers of the most demanding day , in terms of fighting fires, of this month of June 2022 .
Several helicopters from the regional system and two Canadair from the national fleet stationed in Olbia went into action in support of the forestry corps, firefighters and volunteers in the municipalities of Bottidda, in the locality of Nuraghe Larattu, where about one hectare of wood was burned of downy oak; in Modolo , where half a hectare of olive groves and scrub has gone up in smoke; in Calangianus , in Monti della Jescia, where the fire attacked a tree-lined pasture; in Sassari , in the area of La Landriga, where one hectare of olive groves and uncultivated land is burned .
And again: flames and air vehicles in flight in Villaputzu, Macomer, Romana and in the countryside of Bono .
Finally, fire and fear in Villacidro , where a fire broke out that threatened a wind farm and the Villaservice waste deposit , in the industrial area, a stone's throw from the provincial road 61.
